Make Your Case

Time and again, we hear that fundraising is not just about submitting grant applications and hoping you are awarded. Fundraising, including efforts in grant seeking as well as sponsorships and donations, requires building and fostering long term, personal relationships.
Don’t be afraid to invite elected officials, foundation staff, and other community leaders to your market or events. This provides a great opportunity to share your mission, impact, challenges, and successes. It also allows you to hear from those individuals about how your work might support or complement their goals and projects.

Below are a few tips as you start making the case to fund your mobile market:

Provide data on the need in your community

You can visit local sites, review a local hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment, or visit sites like County Health Rankings.

Provide your own impact data.

What data do you have to support the impact your mobile market makes on your community? You can start with sales, local food purchases, customer survey data, incentive use, and more.

Share your vision

Clearly sharing your vision for success and target audience will help funders see how your work aligns with their funding priorities. Mobile Markets use pitch decks, market visits, and presentations to communicate their vision.
Tell stories

Customer stories and testimonials are powerful ways to show impact. (FIND GOOD RESOURCE TO LINK TO)
